As part of a two-day media gethering program with a number of local journalists, the Tangerang regental Adiministration officials paid a visit to a shelter called Rumah Cinta on Jl. Bijaksana, Pasteur subdisrict in Sukajadi, Bandung, West Java on Sunday.
The shelter is home to dozens of children from various regons such as Ciamis, Indramayu, Bekasi, Tasik Malaya and Karawang who are struggling for resisting cancer/leukemia deaseases at the West Java provincial hospital of Hasan Sadikin.
Dewi Nurjanah, the shelter’s care taker couldn’t hide her happines and gratitude as welcoming the visitors for giving such a surprising attention to cancer sufferers.
“Alhamdulillah (Thanks God). We don’t look at what they bring along with them but we are very happy because of their presence. They come from Tangerang, what a distance! Their presence here is enough to make us smile and lough together, really a big support for children struggling against cancer,”she said.
Chandra Budiman, a spokes person at the Tangerang regental administration said, representing Tangerang regent A. Zaki Iskandar, Arsad Husen, an administration assitant handed down some donation in form of cash and packets containing basic comodity needs to Rumah Cinta.
Arsad called the visit to the shelter as a form cares of children-cancer sufferers through a social service involving the administration’s officials and journalists as their working partners.
“We hope that our presence here can be meaningful for the children. Ironically, they contract cancer or leukemia not because of genetical factor but merely due to wrong eating pattern. This should be a serious attention to all of us in controlling children’s smeal,” he said, adding that media gathering is an annual program the administration has set up as effort to distribute information to public.
