Tangerang Regency hosts HMI’s 30th congress

The Association of Islamic Students (HMI) held its 30th congres that was supposed to be opened by the Maritime Coordinating Minister Rizal Ramli at a hotel in Curug, Tangerang Regency on Friday, Nov. 13.

Tangerang Regent A. Zaki Iskandar who finally opened the congress said that it’s another pride for him as Tangerang regency was chosen by HMI, that had produced a number of the national leaders to host the five-day long congress.

Zaki hoped that the congress can produce various thoughts and solutions for the United State of Indonesia (NKRI) in accordance with the theme of the congress it self.

The regent reminded that the roles of young generation is badly needed for the development and the progress of the nation, regarding hard challenges the state will likely face ahead, especially in economic sector amid the 2015 ASIAN Economic Community, that needs leaders who can improve our competitive competence in all sectors.

The organizing committee chairman Khotib Yani apologized as minister Rizal Ramly failed to show up to opening the congress entittled “HMI for the sovreigned NKRI.

The congress, attended by 350 participants from 20 provinces across the archipelago will be lasting between Nov. 13 and 17.
