Jokowi launched intensive labor investment program in Balaraja

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his cabinet ministers launched labor intensive investment program to creat imployment at PT Adis Dimension, a footwear producer in Balaraja district, Tangerang regency on Monday.

Jokowi said he is optimistic that home industry can still grow despite the weakening economy. This is proven by the ongoing construction of similar projects at 16 locations in Central and West Java.

Jokowi cited that the presence of the 16 intensive labor investment projects has grown optimism among business sectors. It means that amis massive dismissal issues, there are the other projects that absorb thousands of manpower in the country.

According to Jokowi, investment permit in the country will complete within three hours after three weeks ahead.

“The government announced last week that arranging permits at Capital Invesment Coordinating Body (BKPM) office now only needs three hours, covering principal permit, Limited Company (PT) and Tax Payers ID Number (NPWP) permit but please wait for three more weeksfrom now,” he said.

The President told people to report to him should permit arrangement at BKPM oficce takes more than three hours.

Jokowi said the launcing of the intensive labor investment program to creat imployment could materialize thanks to a cooperation between BKPM and private actors.

“This program is intended inform the public and investors that many intensive labor firms can still go on with construction project that will complete in phases ebtween 2015 and 2019,” Franky Sibarani, BKPM head added.

In the mean time, Tangerang regent A. Zaki Iskandar said that he and his administration warmly welcome the much-waited both foreign and domestic investment program and hope that government facilitate the investment process.

“Especially in Tangerang regency, I do hope that we can maintain industry and acondusive invesment climate so that a well integrated industrial zone can be created then,” he said.

Zaki added that policy on regional wage determination should really be applied consistently in order that this can ease really industry when facing up labor problems.
